Welcome to 2016-2017

Welcome Severn School Sailing Team, to 2016-2017! Coach Duncan and I are eager to begin the 2016-2017 Sailing Team season.

MEETING WEDNESDAY
We will meet after the first day of school in Roche Lecture Hall at 1445-1545. We will NOT sail, and we will NOT work-out officially as a team. This will be our first important team meeting. After Wednesday, if we have the Permission to Drive slips in hand, we can begin officially going to our practice venue. We hope to get all paperwork in and done, so that we can get to the venue and begin sailing.

TEAM RUN
We will begin our team run on Thursday and Friday. All wishing to sail must complete this. This is a 2.5 mile loop, and can be found on our team website:

PERMISSION TO DRIVE
Please find the attached Permission to Drive and if possible have this filled out and delivered to us at this meeting. We cannot allow transport of players to or from the venue until this form is filled out by every member of the team.

SAILOR PROFILE QUESTIONNAIRE
We have a lot of new faces, and also need to hear from returning players. Please also fill out the Severn School Sailing Team questionnaire. This means everyone. These are abundantly helpful to us; both getting to know new people, and also learning more about goals of returning players.

BOAT WORK MONDAY & TUESDAY, 29-30 AUGUST (BEFORE CLASSES BEGIN)
Coaches will be occupied on Monday, so if seniors can organize a boat cleaning, have at it (and let me know how I can help get necessary resources to you). I will hope to meet (if you can) on Tuesday 1230-1500 to work on boats to get them ready as best as we can. Please let me know if you can help! This is totally optional, and NOT a requirement!

QUICK QUIZ

What plays do(es) our TR team call on at the start of a team race?
