• Pig in Middle to Finish (or Mark 1). This is an essential drill. Set a finish line with 2 marks. You can even do this without a coach. What you do is FTL in a group of three (or round a leeward mark) then go upwind. 1(front) & 3(back) pass-back the 2 and finish the drill 1-2 by crossing the line, or, rounding Mark 1 in a 1-2. Then repeat. The 2 simply tries to stay in second, or even first. Work on CONTROLLED boat-handling in this drill.

Tomorrow Varsity has the day off. JV will meet on campus to go over the season outlook, schedule, and you will meet with Coach K about your role on the team. Meet Coach K in the gym lobby near Koch Alumni room right after school. Work out after meeting. JV should be done by 1700.

Today if there’s any wind we will work on:
-holding lanes off the line
-Roll Tacking.. work on timing with your partner and forceful, but smooth and efficient turns
-roll gybing and wing on/off. Really work on gaining as much ground in these turns as you can while not making it look too physical, and also keep the boat going downwind. too many of us turn too much.
-practice starts on different size and favored end lines…
-maybe rudderless:  WORK On Balance!!
-new people will rotate in today for the last time, then we will pick our final normal sailing teams tonight. Everyone will get a chance to sail today.
