Today (Friday) we had a N breeze around 6-16 knots, with significant left trend pressure, which would inexplicably go back right. Race course was perfectly set for a very unstable wind, although we kept moving to accommodate a backing trend all afternoon.
Great gear-shifting conditions, with full white-cap hiking followed by in-the-boat lulls.
Observations:
– far too many boats overstanding leeward marks. If you don’t know what I mean by this, then you probably were one of the boats overstanding
– Stay out of trouble at the start. FAR too many boats are lethargic/off to the right at 3:00. Be on the line. Study the race course, watch the coach move the pin upwind. Don’t sit there to the right of the starting line vegging out. Firgur out what you need/what to do.
