Monday Practice Notes

-when covered, TACK. Unless you are suckering someone, you cannot simply sail along in bad air making the opponents job exponentially easier. A couple times on the final beat we saw this. In the 1,5,6 when we gave up the 1, everything was working except that the two boats that were on starboard never tacked…

-don’t lee bow opponents if you cannot pinch them off. Duck and then you’re ahead.

-work hard on your stop/starts for better starts. We will work on this a little more.

-Never forget to find the fleet race advantage on the race course… crews MUST work very hard to call new wind/puffs, shifts, and keep the fleet race strategy intact.
